Massive 1.8 Million Dollar Waterline Replacement Project -- Continued Safe Drinking Water for Residents for Decades to Come
St. Joe Clerk, Angela Snyder takes on grant writing to offset waterline replacement project costs
We have town waterlines that need updated to the correct materials and we have to have all requirements met by April 01, 2024 to qualify for the select funds.
"I've been attending Office of Community and Rural Affairs Grant, (ORCA) required meetings, Indiana Financial Authority meetings in muncie to be eligible to receive state revolving funds and, Monday meetings for the DeKalb Commissioners meetings to get American Rescue Plan Act (APRA) funds donated to the waterline replacement project." --Clerk, Angela Snyder
Every grant written and won will "lower" the amount we need to raise our watermill. We have been working with Commonwealth engineers for the water plans and Bakertilly for our water rate study for the last year to be able to get the waterline project moving.
Replacing these waterlines are a priority in St. Joe to maintain safe drinking water for our residents decades to come. Please be patient with Clerk and available in-person office hours, as this community waterline replacement project is time-sensitive and all time-consuming but ultimately benefiting the residents of St. Joe for years to come.
